个人简介

北京外国语学院毕业后,首先从事外交工作,并担任国家领导人外事翻译,同时参与中国主要外宣英文刊物《外交》季刊的翻译和定稿工作。数年后移居西方继续学习、工作,主要往返于英澳等国。1996年完成政治学及国际关系学博士学业,并于同年通过全球招聘考试,前往伦敦就职于英国广播公司(BBC World Service),从事国际新闻工作。2000年赴澳大利亚国立广播公司SBS担任该公司墨尔本制作中心的广播节目总监,为期十余年。 其后,重返阔别已久的校园从事学术工作。现在任教格里菲斯大学(Griffith University),多次获得优秀教学奖。除本科教学之外,还指导博士生,并兼任亚洲研究院(Griffith Asia Institute)的研究工作。其教学与研究范围包括国际关系、中英翻译、外交、传媒和澳大利亚研究等领域,并在这些领域分别有中英文的著述。 王毅博士长期关注中澳关系,其英文专著Australia-China Relations post 1949: Sixty Years of Trade and Politics 一书,是论述新中国成立以来,澳大利亚对华外交政策六十几年演变过程的唯一一部通史性著作。为撰写此书,他曾专门拜访了多名决策者,包括弗雷泽、霍克、霍华德和陆克文等几位前任总理。
