Pacific Islands nation Samoa was one of the first countries in the region to recognize the People’s Republic of China, and 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. In this exclusive interview with CMG’s Wang Guan, Samoan Prime Minister Fiamē Naomi Mata'afa highlights that mutual respect and trust are key to the successful partnership. She also emphasizes that Samoa will keep pursuing mutual development with China in business and trade.

For years, China and Samoa have collaborated closely in the agriculture sector through joint projects and ventures, demonstration farms, pilot zones, and also training programs. Prime Minister Fiamē says this partnership addresses Samoa's food security needs. The country is advancing its agricultural practices and enhancing trade by adding value to its agricultural products.
